No worries. I hate working in the cold also. 60's in clear LA night is enough for me. brrrrrrrrrrrrrr..

Since it is christmas, I will drop my usual price to 50% of the above plus shipping.

LOL, Sunday night and I think you've been in the Heinies all day, unless you are now selling NOS parts.

Here's what I think of your 'cold' 60* nights as I sit here at the comp and it's 14* outside right now.

Have a nice night and thanks for the B'day tip on IHOP, I guess I'll have to wait until next year for the free meal.

Well, I just checked the POR-15 website and found the cans that you were talking about. I wonder why when I checked last time and called them, I was quoted a price of about $68 for a fuel tank kit. I go to look for that kit again, couldn't find it. I did find the various size cans: http://www.por15.com/s.nl/it.A/id.1467/.f So, whatever can size I should get, I'll look into that, since it is much cheaper.

Should I also get the Metal-Ready?

I dont know about your area, but here in LA, there are a few radiator shops who would clean and re-seal gas tanks for about $150 or so. So check around first.

POR is good stuff. No Doubt. For coating the INSIDE of the tank, be sure to check out Red-Kote. It's $30ish a quart and available at Carquest (and others).

I've talked to some car and bike shops that use it with great results.

I'll post my results after I use it myself. That is the route I'm taking.

The higher price is for the complete gas tank resealing kit (does the inside) the little cans of the black paint will be fine for the outside. I've never used the metal ready stuff, but I hear its good.

I wish I even had $20 to my name. So, this is something that I have to do myself.

$80 from Colorado to the east coast in a box meant to keep the tank from trasportation damage. DHL and FedEx ground were about the same, UPS was a bit more.

Looks like things have gone up again. of course this was before the Gas price increases. I did not ship in a box either, I used the shrink wrap that they put around pallets to keep the overall size down. But I remember shipping 4 Se wheels to a member a couple of months ago Via UPS for about $60.00 and the box was much bigger then what a gas tank would be and heavier. It was about 58lbs.
