Replaced Speakers

Yea so i replaced my speakers, Put Sony XPlode 3-way 6 1/2" in the rear

and Pioneer 4" 2-way in the front

i have an 85 GSL with the Premium Factory Setup.. and i have to say it sounds pretty good.. although the fronts seem to be a little quieter, and at somepoint i'll get an amp for the rear, but it's a nice quick fix and sounds great.

the fronts are just quiet because of the stupid placement. If you stuck your head down where the speakers are aimed (at your feet) then they would sound fine. Who ever thought to put the speakers THERE of all places? Last I checked the Japanese didnt have ears on their ankles... could be wrong though.

cool

i recently put in blaupunket 4" 2-way speakers in the front. Sounds pretty good. They were only like $30 from crutchfield, and were easy as pie to install. I don't know if I'll buy speakers for the rear. I kind of want to spend my money on other things for the car...

You can fit 5 1/4 speakers in the kick panels all you have to do is grind around the edges so itll fit, it also helps if you have and extra cardboard kick panel to use as a template cause youll need to cut that too......

Im puting Infinty Kappa perfect 5.25 components if that helps any

Polk 6X9 in rear sound great, 5.25 in front and you can hardly hear them, Kenwood headunit and Soni amp one 12" Infinity Sub, just need to move the fronts or direct them.

Yea i was debating whether or not to get a new head unit, buy my factory system sounds excellent (no scratches and all), the only thing i will probably do is get a 2 channel amp for the rear speakers, but that will be in the future.

I wouldn't trust those lids for anything.. mine are on the verge of falling off, unless you some how permanently screw them on

Yea Im running infinity's all the way around sounds great! The one thing I like about them is the you can move the tweeter in the speaker so I have them aimed at me, Same with the back!

Wow I do liek the 6x9 idea! I wish I had bins to put those in! Right now its just a void because my ol panels got a little rusty, and im in the process of fabbin new ones!
