Question replaced everything! whats next?

okay, ive got a 84 gsl-se with a 45doce weber on it. just recently i was driving down the interstate when i was trying to top out 4th gear, at about 5k it started sputtering and bucking like it wasnt getting any fuel.. so i was like okay my fuel pressure regulator sucks anyway, so i buy one, put it on. NOTHING!!! so im like hey! maybe my cat is clogged! so i take the BACk cat off and gut it out to nothing. so i drive home, and it does it again! but this time in 2nd gear! but if i barely touch the gas pedal, like so im not mashing on it, it drives fine, but other than that if i mash the pedal, it wants to bog out like its not getting any fuel, so i bought a new fuel pump. put it on tonite! and nothing! gawd! what is it?

well its the cheapest out of all you've already replaced. It will also narrow it down and look at it on the bright side if thats not it, something else you don't have to worry about down the road

I wish I could help ya but don't know much about the sidedrafts. only advice I can offer from here is check for obvious things like vacuum leaks and stuff. if it does it when in neutral have someone sit in car and rev it and look for anything odd that could lead you to the problem.

Check your fuel inlet screen on your carb.

Yes! Under hard throttle it could be sucking a big chunk of trash. When you let off some it falls down, then you hit it again and the chunck gets sucked back up.
And besides it never hurts to change that filter!

Might be a vaccum leak also.
If you think it is the ehaust unbolt it at the header or manifold and run it that way.
Never gut a factory cat! They are to hard to come buy.

Ignition?

Cap, Rotor, Plugs, Wires?

It may be getting fuel just fine but no spark to ignite it.

Simple stuff first.

Fuel Pump!

You have a regulator, so I dont' know what kind of pump you're running or when it got installed, but that could do it.

Did you get the carb tuned or just slap it on?

what kind of pump did you drop in? Im guessing you didnt put in a stock pump because they suck even on a stock engine as i have recently learned.

looked into my barrels while it was running, and i seen that the left side ( looking form drivers side) is the only one with gas dripping on it, so i give it gas and still only the left side, so im guessing that this is clogged... how do i go about un clogging it? any special ways besides re-building the bitch>?

That filter replaced in April could very well be clogged. Old tanks contain sediment that tends to get sloshed around and then sucked into the system. And the symptoms often include bogging down (or even stalling out) at higher rpms.

Being the quickest and cheapest fix I'd start there first. If that doesn't help THEN go to step 2.
