Question Repace Radio?? Help!

I have a 85 GS. I want to replace the stock radio Cass/EQ with a new receiver.

- Is there an stock AMP somewere in the car. Where?

Yes. Remove the storage bins and look towards the front. There is one amplifier under each storage bin in the same location.

I would think one amp is for the front speakers and the other is for the rear? Which amp is for the front and the rear??

Correct. They are Clarion 25Wx2 if you have the radio, cassette and equalizer or even just the radio and cassette. The base model came with a single 5Wx2 for the rear speakers only. The front speakers were not amplified on the base model. Mind you, this information is for 1985 RX-7s. The rear amplifier is on the driver side and the front amplifier is on the passenger side.

Dunno if this helps at all, but on my 83 parts car I found one amp underneath the driver's seat and another under the storage bin behind the driver's seat.

Apparently they changed things a bunch between the '83 and '85?
