Removing Pin-Striping

Hi guys I am trying to remove the pinstripes on my car which were painted on.

I bought some new polish to remove old wax and also some acetone

Now first I did the header panel polished it up good, dab of acetone on a paper towel and right off the striping came, better than could be imagined! do some more polish and it looks good, bit darker were the stripes were but that was to be expected. Now I walk to the back of the car to remove more hidious pin striping disasters do the polish, dab of acetone... and the stuff barely wants to come off, with lots of rubbing itll slowly fade until its gone but it takes forever just to get 1" of it done... it softens up the paint a little bit, so if i try and use anything to nick the stripes off theres a good chance of also nicking the paint... so is there anything else you guys might suggest to me besides rubbing it with papertowels & acetone...?
