removing my cat

I'm sure that any Muffler shop wouldnt mind bending some high-grade material for you to use instead of the cat.... just make sure they're a Master Bender.
I believe that Racing Beat and some other companies sell a straight-pipe for removal of the cat.

Ya RB (Racing Beat) has a Cat repalcement pipe strictly bolt on. But if you are gonna take the Cats out (all three) you might as well go all the way and get a headder and do a custom exhaust, or get one of the RB full header +exhaust kits because you have just made your car non-immisions legal. So you might as well go all the way.
But there are three cats (two smaller "pre" converters and one large main cat)
N E way good luck

The header/pre-silencer combo is the way to go.. but if you don't have the funds (like me), or you want some extra performance, but want to be able to easily put the stock cats back on for emissions purposes, spring for the RB cat replacement pipe.. seems expensive, but when you get it, you'll be shocked at the heft of the thing. While you're ordering, make sure to pick up a gasket for each end of it. Don't even think about trying to reuse your old ones. I have/had one on my '82 S and couldn't be happier with it. Ditching the cats gives the exhaust more of a roar with a slight hint of that rotary chainsaw sound. I like it..

I personally don't recommend removing the MAIN CAT.. because you'll be polluting... just swap to a HI FLOW CAT... you can remove the pre cats if you want and replace with a pre silencer(or get the BONEZ CAT that includes the presilencer already)... there not worth being there...

I have RB headers, straight pipe, and one cat and my car passed emissions in Ontario with flying colors as well as gained performance. The straight pipe was a custom job from the main cat. If I remember right, I think the custom work was only a couple of hundred canadian.
Just my two cents worth!

I checked the testpipe.com and could'nt find the RX7! My two cents: it pollutes more to manufactuer a new car that it does to drive and old one into the ground that smokes a little.
