Removing Back Seats

Hey. Trying to remove the back seats from my '83. I know it's probably a piece of cake, but so far it's mission impossible. So far I have pulled 2 nuts on each the left and right side, underneath the front of the back seat. Now I'm puzzled..

^^ I removed two nuts in total, not 2 on each side that makes 4.

most of us have North American cars without back seats, so advice on this one might be slim pickins. hopefully an Aussie will chime in...

Assuming they are the same as the 2nd gen seats, and I believe they are. There are 2 bolts that pass through metal wire loops in the back of the seat bottom. To complete removal of the lower part, push down/back on the front edge of the seat to release the hooks. The seat back bolts can then be accessed to complete removal.

^ listen to Trochoid. When it pertains to our cars; if he doesn't know the answer, there is no answer.

There are 2 bolts under the back of the seat (like under each outermost butt cheek). very tough to reach, you'll barely get your hand and a wrench in there.

Thanks guys, I think I've figured it out. Keep your eyes out on ebay, I probably will be selling them. I will let everyone know ahead of time.

Most of the aftermarket rear seats have bolts behind the seat back, if you fold the rear down you should be able to see them.

I removed a rear seat from a junkyard that bolted through the cross member. If you haven't already, remove the piece of carpet that is covering the front of the cross member, then shine a light through the whole and see if there is a nut there or some type of hook. I also remember removing a bolt or a nut from each of the rear tire wells but I"m not sure if these attached to the seat or the seat belts for the rear seats.
