The only way to get one, is to try to drive under a moving semi trailer.

Well, that's interesting Cody. But why does the semi trailer have to be moving?

Just to add a extra layer of excitement while modidying the car? You are EXTREME! I bow to you!

A removable hard top would be cool Jorx but I doubt the flimsy RX7 unibody would put up with it. You would need a roll bad or smoething to help hold it all together.\ The convertible guys seem to do it ok.

Let us know if you find any.

In the early 80s several firms offered Targa top conversions. The genuine Targo top versions all suffered from structural weakness and Flexed too much for serios driving. The orter versions simply cut a large hole and had a fibreglass cover over this with four quick release handles.

It would be possible to mould your own cover prior to cutting the hole I did this with persplex on a Lotus Europa in 1969 and it worked well as long as you have somewhere to store it in the car.

I suggest you look at the late model Honda CRX for the best approach, the trunk lid is the same shape as the roof and the panel locks down under it when being stored.

Since the convertibles do not all have the same length opening I wonder if it would be possible to make a removable hard top that would fit all or most?

Why...

So someone with another rare vert can steal your hardtop and use it for their car?

Steal it so it could be stolen back? LOL. Hard tops are for if you drive the car in winter or otherwise always want the top up. If you drive in winter or only have one car I guess they make sense. Otherwise they are just a novelty, would be cool to have but just take up garage space.

I don't think I like the look of the targa though it would be less painful.
