Reinstalled carb or "Is gas supposed to come out of there?"
I breathed in a lot of gasoline fumes so this post might be a bit hazy. I recently removed the mikuni setup and reinstalled the old nikki. Car was running decently with the mikuni and with the nikki prior to that. I did the rats nest removal, capped off extraneous lines, etc.
It starts up but dies, won't hold anything resembling an idle without gas. It's the same with or without choke. Now with my mechanical prowess I'm thinking I probably created a massive fsucking vacuum leak somewhere. I took a look around and I noticed that the secondaries were submerged in gasoline along with more gasoline around the carb spacer on the side that faces the front. The thing has been sitting for a couple years so that might be the reason. Timing was done prior to the mikuni removal and I'm running a carter 72gph with a FPR at 2.5 psi. Thoughts?

All the solenoid connectors are, erm, connected. Whoops, on first glance I thought the float levels were fine. The front one has the air bubble near the top, the rear one looks like the attached image. Rebuild time?

yeah, the little rubber tips on the needle valves in the float bowls are probably deteriorated from sitting dry for so long. re build is probably a good idea.

Sitting for so long isn't so much the case that the tips dry up and harden, it's the fuel. When it evaporates, it leaves varnish like deposits that gum the **** out of everything. If you can run some Seafoam through the fuel tank, a full can to 1/8-1/4 of a tank, that may clean out the deposits, if you can keep it running long enough.
