glad you got it back TJ. Great persistance and detective work!
good plan to get dealer price for ALL missing parts. I'd have to say that the rednecks property is worth more than repairing your car but I'd be suprised if it came to them selling property. but you are entitled to restitution.
grand theft auto is a felony if anything else they will go back to jail. especially with the probation violations and other hot goods to boot.
what lowlifes. their **** will get pushed in *real good*

I'm glad to hear you got her back, TJ. I would have taken a bat or something and beat the hell out of that redneck bonfire if it was my car they stole. But you were rational (thank God) and did things the smart way. I hope them druggie rednecks become Bubba's bitch's in prison. I can't wait to hear your plans for "Lucky".

Wow TJ, that's quite a story. Very glad you got it back. I can understand your attachment to the car. I've had thecreammachine (looks like yours) since I was 17 and in highschool, I'm 27 now. I would be very undone if it was stolen and messed with. I'd also be very happy to have it back at home again. Good detective work!

Nice detective work. I'm sorry that some waste-of-life scum took apart your car. That's just messed up... Anyhow, glad to hear the good news. Best of luck with your new project. RENESIS perhaps?

Yeah, well for now, its going to sit while I rebuild it slowly. Im not sure what my plan is so far, but you can bet it includes a 13BT, some body work, and a new paint job...Its gonna be a long process in the making, but in the end, it should be fun.

Damn good job TJ! Maybe you should think of becomming a dectective! As the kids say, "you got mad skillzs yo!" Great story too, maybe you could be a writer! Go for the suit, you got tons of proof of what was on that car.
Im glad to see you showed restraint and did it right. Now go and make her happy again! After all, I guess yu picked the right name for her. She truly is "Lucky".

YOU KICK ***!!!!
When you go to court (and make sure you do)
get really sappy, and with the whole poorboy thing.
Something like :
It was MY car that I worked really hard and for a long time to get this car and I worked on myself to get it running and just when it was perfect they had to go ad take it from me
And work up some tears they help alot.
Actually, how old are you cuz that might not work...

Nicely done.
Now gut the spineless *****. I don't want to imagine what I'd do in your stead. As others have said, it's time to get your *** into the police academy to get on the path towards detective

Hey TJ
That's absolutely awesome that you got her back. What are you thinking of for the new paint colour? Depending on what you get from these friggers, it might be worth it to take everything off and start right from scratch, like "Ultralights" did here:
https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showth...hreadid=212612
I'd vote lucky in for a gunmetal blue. If you lay gunmetal (smoky) blue over top of the gold metallic underlay, it would look *awesome*.
Good luck explaining to the guys at Mazda why you had three ignition coils.. Those guys barely know how to work on a *stock* car, let alone quote you on building a highly modded one... but go speak to them, find someone high in the parts department to actually *sit at a desk* with. Explain to him that your car was stolen yaddy yadda... show him the pictures, and make like you actually want *them* to do the work this time around. Go into detail about all the stuff you'd done, make sure he's taking notes. You can say that "well I had done it the first time, but I think it'd be easier to get you guys to do it this time. I need a proper quote on all this to take it to court though"
Don't forget to throw in an engine rebuild, they charge an arm and a kidney for that, and your car definitely needs it. Hell, you could have a proper rotary shop take it apart to present further evidence that the engine is fucked up now.
Makes you wonder who they were selling Rx7 parts to? I mean why steal an Rx7 of all cars? We've been talking forever about the fact that their value isn't very high. A car like yours is worth much more to you as a car than to someone as drug money... It just doesn't make sense.
Best of luck to ya. Oh, and when all is said and done, if you decide to go 13bt and get rid of the 12a, I may be able to throw a little your way for it, to help with the rebuild, if you don't consider that insulting. I'd love to rebuild lucky's core and put it in my '84, but something tells me you'd probably be lookin' to keep it Hit me up when all the court stuff is finished and you have your new 13bt ready to drop in

It sucks to think.......that despite their pitiful house..those people might have the internet access........and maybe even a name on this forum.
I'm surprised those idiots didn't get a clue......after first seeing your other Rx-7 following them for a short while........and then seeing it parked in front of their house with you waiting inside.
From this point on........I will always be suspicious of those damn Geo Metros with the tow hitch on back. LOL

By the way Ive been compiling a list of all broken/damaged/stolen parts while cruising Mazda Trix, and reading the Victoria British catalog so I have an idea as to what try and get from them...Damn these cars are expensive to buy parts for new Im up to just under $5K, and thats without finding a price for seats, as well as some other misc stuff...Ill attach the Excel list for anyone with Office.

Not too many horror stories have such nice endings... She still needs a lot of work, but you got her back.
