Shoot thats not good. Is the throat of the carb filing with gas? Did you replace the needle and seat that came with the kit? Uh... it is possible that a piece of girt got into the needle and seat while you were reassembling it I suppose. Are both of the glasses full or just one? I would rule out a problem with the needles if they are both full. You may have excessive fuel pressure in that case. Is the fuel pump stock? If its aftermarket you'll need a pressure regulator. Otherwise the fuel pressure will force the needle and seat open and flood it.

all carbs r different, that is just a starting point for setting float level. also check the floats, they could be filling with fuel.

nevermind, it may not be the floats, but there is still a problem. we have the carb on the bench and its off to where you can see the bowls that the floats go in. we filled up the bowls with gas and its leaking. is it supposed to until it reaches a certain level or is there a problem. thanks for you help, i really want to get this thing back running before wed so i can have something to drive to school.

It should be halfway up the windows. Alot of times on new needles they dont seat right away. After its back together and on the car. Tap the top of the carb where the 2 inlet lines are (on the banjo bolts) with a mallet, hammer or screwdriver handle. Dont wail on it, just tap on it to shock the seats. That helps them seat sometimes. One other thing you can try since its apart again, is to put a little grease or oil on the needle tips (both ends) and on the axle that the float pivots on. Oh and brgins to mind a question. What tool did you use to adjust the floats? And check the surface that contacts the needle and make sure it is absolutely smooth. Any nicks, gouges or roughness can cause the floats to hang up. Very common mistake.

I always use a caliper to adjust the floats and never had a problem with my float adjustments on my Nikki carbs. Yeah I agree that a little all purpose grease on the needle tips help them seat properly.
