how bad is to rebuild a manual tranny. i have a extra tranny and i want to rebuil it. thanks

thats a good question id like to know also. i know its supposed to be damn hard to rebuild automatics but i think 5 spds are easier, just dunno where to get parts

Yeah parts would be the big thing, the dealer would be the place and I bet all those little parts would be a BITCH to find on a computer

yeah, i'm interested, too ...
where would you get the parts? what parts usually go bad (besides the seals)?

i would like to rebuild one of the trannies i have. i disassembled it, but it's been a pain to try to get it back together, especially the tail part!

any direction? anybody?

Rebuilding manual trannys aen't too difficult povided u have the mechanical knowledge and ability to do it. I did a 4 spd in a Capri V6 I used to drive along time ago, twice. I tore 2nd gear out of it, then 3rd the 2nd time. My RX3 I drive now has an '83 engine and tranny in it and I had to modify the tranny so it would fit the car without cutting the floor.
