Ok, I'm in the same boat as you...Ive been looking into rebuilding my 12A for a while now, and the cheapest place I have found to buy the kit from was Revolution Rotary. Thy have a rebuild kit that has everything you would need, all the gaskets and seals (apex, corner, side, etc.) for a little under $600. As far as time to do it, I think that all depends on you mechanical ability. I think that if you have a nice weeked set aside to just thins project, you could easily complete it (assuming you run into no problems). Hope that kinda helps.

I just put a motor together the other week for under $250

And parts are cheapest through Mazdacomp (or Mazdaspeed as they are now calling themselves). But you gotta race to get the discount.

lol, its sounding more and more like me . Ok well a wise man once said to me "if the tranny starts making noise, fill it with synthetic and run it till it breaks" From what ive heard, they arent too fun to even attempt to rebuild, so im guessing a junk yard is about your best bet on a tranny...Could be wrong though. Oh, and if you ahve an ebay account, and you care to try, heres a link to a cheap engine rebuild kit on there from atkins rotary...12A Rebuild Kit (Ebay) No bearings in it though...you may want to double check what all you will need to do the job, and make sure the "kit" your gonna buy has it all. Personally, im just looking for the one that has the most stuff for the cheapest price .
