To Rebuild or not to rebuild
My younger brother recently gave me his 83 GSL that doesn't run. I really loved to drive the car and couldn't see it go to the scrap yard after all the money he put into it. The body is in great shape, but here is my delima. I knew that the water jacket seal was leaking and filling the front rotar housing with coolant. My brother and father tried to rebuild it with no success. I was away at college at the time. I decided that I would take it apart and take a look at it myself. When I broke down the engine I found that the front housing had been filled with coolant for the entire 2 years that the car sat in my family's yard and there appears to be some rust on most of the componants in the front housing. I think it may be cleanable. So should I rebuild it or buy a rebuilt 12a street port?

don't know how difficult it may be to remove the rust but a cheaper and definate rust free way would be to go to the junk yard and get the housing you need or call mazda recycling. good luck
