I tore apart the ole 2 rotor motor and everything looks new, it was swapped in before I bought the car so I have no idea when it was last rebuilt and everything seems to be up to spec, so could I reuse corner seals and side seals? Im replacing apex seals just to be safe but I dont have overhaul money for the rest. And i managed to get 3 side seals mixed up. Theyre from the same side of the rotor they just fell out because im not so smart and tried to pick up the damn thing because I wanted to see how heavy it was

 

any used seals still within spec can be reused provided they go back where they came from.

 

Yea I changed my mind, im buying all new seals, plus it is my first time rebuilding an engine so ill go ahead and take the safe route and go ahead and spend the $150 on new seals, im sure its the better decision so hopefully someone else can take something from this post

 

Unless you have been to this Rodeo before, recommend the Mazdatrix Rebuild Video DVD. LOTS of tips the OE manual fails to mention.

most of my rebuild info came from 45% Aaron Cake, 45% Blake Martinez and 10% various sources. I like to use multiple references on a project like this.
