Question Rearen Swap

OK well I got this buddy right. His open-end diff went out and he is really wanting an LSD. He has a 85 GS. Well I happen to partake in the adventure and came across and guy sellin a 83 GSL LSD Diff for 100$. Now what I was wondering, are these two rear ends swapable? Just unbolt one and bolt the other on.

THanks Guys.

You could do it, you just have to change brake cables and hoses.
