Question Rear wiper / Defroster lines?

Ok, so My rear wiper hasnt worked for a long time now, and sometimes during spirited driving it would go psycho and flip around, smacking the window and such so I decided to take it off, After doing so i was just gonna clip the wiring harness thing at the shock, but after closer inspection It appears to me that the defroster lines in the hatch glass somehow share a common ground or something, So basically my question is, Will my rear defroster work without the wiper plugged in, or do I have to rig the wires up somehow, If so, a little help on how. Thanks.

Don't the wiper wires plug into connectors on the C pillar? You can just pull those connectors.

The defrost grid goes to the curly wires up by the top edge.

I don't know, never tried... I know that sometimes my ground is bad and that both my defog and rear wiper don't work... I have no idea what will happen if you disconnect the wiper motor.

Well, on my hatch glass there is also a little tab connector to a near the shock, it has a wire that goes into the harness that plugged into the wiper motor, the way I see it, they share a ground but the easiest way to connect it was inside the wiper box thing....but now..no wiper box, so Im just wondering if the defroster is gonna be affected. I might be missing something here, but when i look at it it just doesnt look right to cut all the wires.
