Rear tire width on 12 sec or lower 1st gens

I was wondering who on here is in the 12 seconds or faster in the 1/4 mile. What width and type of rear tires are you running? I'm going to run my car at the track after the 8.8 rear goes in and wanted to get a set of rear tires just for the drags.. Any suggestions? Thanks...

There was a post within the last year asking the same question, with an answer. Unfortunately search skills my suck and can't help you out with that part of it. Iirc, they were running 13" rims that may have been 8" wide. The post may have been in the race car tech section, the time slip section, or here. You might try adding Mickey Thompson in the search parameters. Good luck.

I should be in the 12's with these after I get my intercooler piped up. Blake rn 12's on them and Ari Yallon ran 10's on 'em...

AJC 13B was one of the best all round modified gen 1s, upgraded Cosmo engine with mega turbos. Perfect for both street and drag use.

It looked stock apart from the 17" Simmons wheels. I wished I had bought it when it was for sale about three years ago to part fund a house purchase.

Full cage would be a good idea, maybe even required, depending on where you run and the sanctioning body. Intercooler sprayer might do the job to for those short trips down the 1320.

Gonzz, I must say its awesome to see your project coming together so well. I really would like to see a video of how fast this thing really is! Since my car is going to be a similar setup (i've just got aways to go, with piecing everything together) its awesome to see the results that you are getting!

With about 400rwhp I would guess you would be in the 11 second range, but it would be damn awesome if you were able to run a 10 second pass. When my cars all done I have a friend with a lamborghini murcielago that im going to line up with. Should be fun!
