Rear tails don't work blowing fuses constantly

I've searched and searched but found nothing, does anyone know where to look when I am blowing the fuse that powers the lights down tail lights and dash lights?
I somehow got it to work for about a week jiggling wires but I pulled the dash and couldn't find any issues with anything-

You have a short somewhere between the fuse and the tail lights. Only way to find it is to start tracing wires. You'll want to download the wiring diagram, too.

The manuals and diagrams are here:

What year is the car? How long has this done this? Any recent work performed before this happening? Does it blow the fuse when the key is turned to 'ON' or does it blow when you hit the brake pedal, hit the turn signals, turn on headlights, etc. This could help to track down where the short may be.

It blows when you turn on the lights, the headlights then go up but won't come back down, brake lights work fine but it knocks out the rear tails, license plate light and dash lights
and its an 85 GSL 12a

I had the same issues. When I reinstalled my motor after a rebuild I plugged the front running lights into the wrong plug and it acted the same exact way you are describing. It seems Mazda made 2 plugs that are identical in shape on the front harness and I mixed them up.

I had the same problem and found a wire pinched between the rear bin and the wheel well due to rust.
