Question rear seat pics

Does anyone have pictures of rear seats on a 1st gen in burgundy leather? I was hoping to get some but I want to see how they look.

do a search, the only one I saw was like .. a yellowish colour, personally I'd try to swap in the 89-94 240sx rear-seats.

I believe all the 7's in Australia have em, as well as some Canada cars, and some NorthWest cars.

Check Ebay, they are there every so often.

They were only in J-Spec cars, weren't they, due to the slackened crash-test requirements?

yeah, but as useful as teats on a bull. @ least for someone of my height, the driver's seat will butt up against the rear seat making it useless to carry anyone except an infant or double leg amputee.

Then again newer car seats are rear facing and need more room, and I really have no reason to transfer a growing tricycle motor, so scratch "infant" off the list.

I don't know any double leg amputees (although if I did I'm sure they'd be real down-to-earth people), so...

huh. guess I'll stick with just 2 seats.

I've got a 2+2 and it works out great for carrying around my two bicycle motors. 1 in the passenger seat, one behind her, and I drive like I own a station wagon. Then, drop them off at the caregivers, and drive the Rex like a Rex the rest of the way to work. I get to drive the Rex about 10 times as much as I could without the +2.

The silver handle in the center of the seat is supposed to allow the seat back to drop, is that correct?

They'd at least be more useful than the bins! I mean, say you pop off to the store to pick up some milk and stuff. You could stash it in one of the rear buckets instead of on the passenger seat, floor, or on the rear deck, where it would roll around a lot.

The bins are completely useless in my cars... the seat backs ride on the lids, so you can't open them without moving the seat and losing the adjustment that it took 45 uncomfortable minutes on the highway to finally find...

good point.

Then again I found aftermarket cargo nets (meant for minivans & wagons) can be easily installed in the rear area to keep stuff still.

I have one folded double, with the fold pinned beneath the metal rail across the carpet over the bins, and the two topmost achor points of the net simply screwed into the front bottom corners of the rear window trim where the stock screws went (no additional holes; easy to undo)

This 'rakes' the cargo net about the same slope as the bins and looks pretty good. Best of all the fold makes a cargo net 'pouch' for papers, etc. so I can carry them loose with the windows rolled down and not have them blow around inside the car.

Interesting. I have one as well, but not folded over, and just with bungee clips. I only put it on sporadically though.

Got a pic?

Wow, those seats on ebay are in good shape. What would be involved in swapping them into my 83? is it just a simple drop in or what?

i believe all you need to do is remove the storage bins and the metal housings that they mount to (i think it's like 6 screws/bolts - i can't remember)

i miss my back seat. the first Rx-7 i bought had one (burgundy) ... but that was the car that got stolen!
