2 small children, or some midgets?

Pfft. There's a LOT more room on the roof. I say just get a roofrack. No bitching about the A/C not reaching them at least.

I just don't see how anyone could sit in the back, even if there was a seat. You'd have to cut out the floor or something. I know behind my seats there's just inches of space between the seat and the storage bins.

ive got the rear seats in mine. In Aus there registered as a 4 seater.. so they all had seats not bins.

You can fit people back there, but after 5 minutes there legs go dead and they cant really move much. I usually just have one person in the back and they sit across the two seats for more leg room.

Most of the time i just fold the seats down and have a nice big boot

yea ditch the 4 seater idea, I mean look at it. I was 12 when my bro got his 83 944 and the seats were made for babys and carseats. NOt adults. Same goes with the 7. No offense towards people with the rear seat but for real, Truthfully and don't lie, how many times does soemone actually sit in the back seat for a long period of time corfortably?

I used to be able to get changed in the back seat of mine when i was like 12. Im 6 5'' now and were planing to get all 4 seats filled tommorow in my mates S3 85. and go for a 2 hour drive. It is possible to do it. Gotta admit though. im in the process of building a speaker box that replaces the rear seat in mine at the mo. Rear seats just mean that you can take more people home from pub. that intern means that you can drive to pub, that intern means that you cant drink cos you driving, that is no fun, take out seat, no more lifts to give to people to pub, you can get lift. YAY. Rx7s hate wieght, why have people in the back???

Even 10 and 8 would have a hard time with those seats. I hopped in the back of my mom's 83 Celica Supra up until the age of about 8, after that no. And the old Celica Supras were way bigger than an RX. Just not worth the effort.
