Rear hatch shocks

I am replacing them and how to you remove the ball fitting from the car end to the shock?

there should be a black c-clip looking the get a small flat head screwdriver and pop it out a little it should slide right off.

I never did figure out how the ball stud came off my original struts. The replacements I bought (iirc StrongArm # 4709) They came with new ball studs.

I believe you said "from the car side"...
If I'm not mistaken, you will have to use a 13mm open-end wrench...
Its a little troublesome, but you will get it out...
