Rear-Ends...

How much RWHP, BHP, or torque can the stock open diff take?
Also how much can the GSL and the GSL SE rear ends handle?
With a stock organic clutch...

The question is not "How much power?" but, rather, "How much abuse?" And frankly, I've found the tranny output shaft to be the weaker link, between the two. I have broken an output shaft with a high-rev bog launch on R-compound tires, with a puck clutch on a streetport 13B GSL-SE. Never lost a rear end yet, despite pumping about 300hp through a puck clutch, on wrinkel-wall slicks, with a Peripheral Ported 13B...but that was with 4.875 gears. I suppose there is a limit, but it's never been a problem for me.

alot of us v8 guys are pushing 350ft/lbs with no issues at all. I'm not a clutch dropper though, it happens but not often enough to call it abuse.
