WA rear end swap

hey people

I was just wondering if i could swap the rear ends on my two rx7 one is a 1981 gsl and one is a 1983 GS i blew the rear end in my 83 and was wondering if i could put the one out of my 81 in it i know its going for drum to disc brakes but i just want to know if i could without much mods i know upgrading the brake units is going to have to happen but the install on the third member is what i need to know about

The 81 disc rear will swap into the 83 just fine, but you will also need the driveshaft. The pinion flange changed in 83, so the driveshaft won't fit the 81 diff.
You'll also need the park brake cables, and the chassis to axle brake hose.
With those 3 additional items, it's a direct swap.
