rear end swap ??
I am upgrading my GSL suspension with a GSL-SE parts car I just bought. This means I need to upgrade to the more common bolt pattern. The problem is that my GSL-SE rear end has a 4.88 rear gear, but I want to keep the 3.90 LSD unit that my GSL has now. So the way I see it I have two options. Either swap the units in each diff, and install the whole GSL-SE rear end with the switched differential, or to swap the axels from the GSL-SE into my diff that's on the car. My questions is, which would be easier, swapping the hubs, or the gears.
I'd rather swap the axels because then I could leave everything on the rear end still attached, but I don't know how hard it is on the 1st Gen RX-7s.

First of all the only way -se hubs are going to fit in your axle housing is if its a 1984 or 1985 rear axle.
Second, in order to swap the 3rd member you have to pull the axle shafts anyways to remove the 3rd member. SO I would leave my axle housing in (84-85 only) and pull your axle shafts out and install the -se axles shafts in.
