rear end driveshaft mounting plate removal?

Well I searched and didnt find much information on it, Im swapping the driveshaft from my 81 into my 84 because I destroyed the U-joints in it, and I need some advice on how to remove the adapter plate that bolts onto the rear end housing. I assume you just take off the 22mm nut and it slides out but I am having a hell of a time getting the nut off. I got my breaker bar on it and try to muscle it off but if I get too wild it will turn the tires and back the car off the ramps and down onto my stomach, I dont think I would like that very much (I need a few more years of working out before I can lift the car lol ). I am afriad of the same result if I use my impact gun, is there something I am missing? any useful tips would be much apriciated.....
Oh yeah, and yes I have the E brake on, the car still tries to move on me.

What adapter plate. To separate the driveshaft from the pinion flange (3rd member), you have to remove the 4 bolts.

no I got the shaft off, now I am trying to remove the peice that the shaft bolts to because the bolt patterns are different. I also forgot to mention that I have the front tires blocked but when I really try to force the nut off it just drags the blocks back through the gravle. I think the damn thing is welded on lol.... Im about to get out the cutting torch.

Stop right where you are and buy a driveshaft or have your old one rebuilt. Once you braek that nut loose and change the pinion flange out, you will need to have the backlash reset on you diff gears, along with a new crush tube. The needed diff work will cost more than a freshly built driveshaft.

Well I already got the one off my parts car but was unable to remove the one on my driver, I guess it worked out well. I did put some serious strain on the nut to get it off, maybe ill beat it in the opposite direction for a minute or two and hope for the best lol
I guess ill just have to replace the U joints on it. Thanks guys.
And for whatever its worth, the diff on my parts car would whine like a banshee so no big loss there.
