Fair Price

I am in the market for another seven, and was wondering if this car was worth what the owner was asking.

You are correct. The good engine goes with the car with mesh wheels. The body on that car is fairly decent. There is a little rust in the corners of the doors. The underside is in good shape. It does need new interior and a windshield the current one is cracked. I had that car running last summer but never got it running really good. It was having some fuel problems. I think it has to do with the carb. So that probably needs cleaned out, but the engine is good. It has a new radiator and I have a new alternator and belts for it as well, Also put in a new clutch plate. Let me know if you have any more questions.

It is actually a 1982. There is plenty of fuel getting to the carb. That is not the problem. And if I can get the car started and I poor fuel directly into the carb. the car runs fine and idles ok and everything. But if I don't poor the fuel directly into the carb then I have to pump the gas pedal to keep it running and the car wont idle. I have taken it out on my road and drove it a couple of times but I had to pump the gas pedal to keep it going, But it does run great if you just poor the gas directly into the engine. So that is what makes me think it is just a carb. problem. How does $400 sound? and I will let you take whatever other parts you want off of the other car, they are the same year.

So, is it worth the $400 to go get it and risk having it not make it home, or $500 to deliver?

Wheels alone are worth almost the purchase price when spiffed up. The rest depends on your budget and the mechanicals. Rust and interior work would be my next concern after that.

Hard to say. is it a good title and no rust, then maybe/yea. Wheels should be good for $200 of the price and scrap would be $150 so it should be worth $350 easy.

I don't know. That sounds kinda high. I bought my 84 for $400 running and pretty much rust free, and that is Can funds.

A running engine is worth the purchase price as it is.
It all boils down to if you can shell out the money with out causing other financial concerns. If the answer is no then don't do it.

If it is then It may be a good deal.

Dunno, but the little rust and the wheels is what attracts me. I'm about to graduate high school. Thanks to savings bonds and other assets I recieved, college is taken care of, but I'm going to a local community college for auto mechanics, so it won't cause any financial concern. I'll have to see if I can talk him down. This seven will probably be a DD for me to save the GSL-SE from any harm, it's too clean!

Going to College locally, (paid for), for auto mechanics with a project 7 on the side, priceless. You will get an edication at school and at home.
