Rear brake hardware: What goes where?

So... got an FB.. most of the brake hardware was missing, causing a huge-*** noise after everything got warmed up... Ordered a brake hardware kit from mtrix and since I have no point of reference I have no idea how they go in.

When I get the calipers off, will they just make sense?

WTF? I don't get it. How can the hardware be missing and you warmp up the engine and the "huge *** noise"???

Warmed up as in after you move the vehicle the brakes make noise?

Well mr cranky.. What I meant was when everything BRAKE related gets warmed up the pads start vibing.

Usually somewhere between 10 and 45mph.

I am not mr Cranky. You need to give year, model and a discription of the problem.

It sounded like casper the ghost took some of you parts off the brake. Then you started the car and it made a big noise. Starting the car means it's an engine problem right?

That's not cranky that's beeping confused....

BTW yes get your rotors turned or replaced when you change the pads.

It will not make complete sense. I'd also recommend picking up some Syl-glide or similar brake lube to coat the anti-vibration pads. I had the same squeaking after new pads, rotors and whatnot, and adding the missing hardware fixed my problems.

You must still have the metal clips that hold the pads in? The anti-squeal shims should be self explanatory. If you need to see how the clips go in, take a picture and I'll run out to my car.

As for vibration, the hardware would not cause that, only squealing.

Yea and I was not trying to be a jerk just comes off that way sometimes. I am like a robot when it comes to the parts and procedures....

The old pads pick up debris and stuff and make scratches in the surface. Feel it with your finger and you'll feel groves. That's what makes
the pads vibrate like and ugly hum. Otherwise it could be the wear detectors if it's a screech.

You says "pads", but also say "rear brakes" in the title. Are they really drums? Or do you have rear discs? If they are drums I can understand your confusion...with pads, there really isn't a lot of hardware, so I'm not sure where you would be confused. More details please!

I have the Mazda FSM for my car, doesn't really explain what goes where, or give an exploded view or anything like that. Just mentions removing them and putting them back on.
