Unhappy Rear axle problems

I have an 83 but the rear axle is from a GSLSE. It started making a sqeek noise a couple months ago and has gotten much worse. I put the car on hoist and ran it. I could see the LR rotor hitting the brake pads like it was warped and makeing the noise. I turned the rotor and test drove No inprovement. So my question is do you think it is a bearing causing the axle to move ( I am hoping for this) Or do you think the axle is bent. I havent personaly hit anything since the axle has been on the car but I am sure it has had some history on its prevouis car. Please Help.

See you at Seven stock!!!!!!

Do FC axles fit in a 1st Gen? If so, I got a pair I'll sell you for $50

Sounds like the bearing. If the axle was bent, then the noise wouldn't steadily get worse. It seems like in your case, the noise is getting worse cause the bearing is getting worse.

The fc's were independent suspension right? So I do not think they would fit. I am going to tear down the axle. Bearing or not its got to come apart. If the axle is bent do you think that it can be repaired?

if the wheel bearings are shot they tend to make noise. i would replace the bearings and axles if money allows.

Do you think it would be obvouis once I remove the axle. I definetly plan on replacing the bearing I just dont want to replace the axle if it is not nessisary.
