Rear Axle Collar Sources
Rear axle bearing retaining Collars are getting harder to find nowadays. There used to be lots of sources for them, but now it looks like all we have left as of 9 Sept are Mazda, Mazdatrix, and Black Dragon. The collars are getting as much or more expensive than the axle bearings cost !?!
If any of you knows links to suppliers of axle collars, please post them here. Thanks

Thanks t g farrell. I just ordered three collars from rockauto.com. I noticed they said they were on closeout from the wholesaler (Beck-Arnley,) so they might not be available much longer. I used to be able to buy the Beck-Arnley collars from my local Advance Auto Parts, but they no longer have a listing for them. The rockauto price is cheap right now, only $3.91 per collar; much better than the $19 or $20 collars from Mazdatrix & Black Dragon.
I was also able to order genuine Timken bearings + collars for only $20.79 from www.usautoparts.net
When I ordered them on Wednesday, they were not sure they were available from their supplier, but they quickly shipped them straight here from the Timken warehouse in Clarksville, TN and they showed up Friday afternoon.
I wonder if this collar is a part that racers should stock up on. My road racer 1st gen tends to quickly wear rear axle bearings because I am running a lot of negative camber in the rear axle housing. I try and keep 2 spare axles with fresh bearings on hand.
t g, I just noticed we both joined this forum in July of 2004; what a coincidence.
