Angry is it really a piece of c... ?

I have power to dash lights, good battery, no power to guages, no crank. I suppose that it is back up on the jacks, crawl under and start with the solenoid. any better ideas? kinda getting sick of this car. end rant. Bob

Bob- ever replaced the battery cables?? 20-ish yrs old ones can be well-corroded inspite looking OK. Can create all sorts of electric gremlins, tho having no guage power, but idiot lights, sounds odd -
a thought-

so your idiot lights work, but gauges won't light up? Or do they light up but don't give readings? Not sure what you mean by "power to gauges".

If the former, check the 10A Tail Illumination fuse (third one in, left side row). But if it's out you'll have no running lights either. Otherwise, check your dash dimmer switch. Mine quit on me last night as I was driving my date home
