How do you convert AN size hoses to SAE? Is AN-6 hose approximately 3/8" or what?

-8an hoes ends are the same as 1/2 flare pipe fitting at home depot. -6an are 3/8 -4an are 1/4.

I.D. of -8an is about 3/8, -6 is 1/4 and -4 is a little larger than 1/8.

There is no real conversion. -#an is just a fancy way of renaming whats been standard in the plumbing world for a great number of years!!
