Realistic HP quotes.

I'm in the market for a 48 DCO and have spoken to several companies and all have given me different quotes in HP increses, from as little as 25hp upto 80hp. The carb is going on a 12A with a stage 3 street port, RB Road race headers and cat back after market exhaust.
My question is, from expericanes, what's a REALISTIC horsepower increse i can expect. Also, althougth i don't care too much, what kinda 1/4 mile times could i expect if i got into it? The car is a GS.
Thanx in advance

I would approximate about 180 horsepower to the wheels. maybe upwards of 200 with that setup.

Again, thast just my guestimate.

BTW, if thats your car in your pic, thats an awesome looking ride man. lets see some more pics!

To make things even more complicated your Dynojet or whatever dynos read lower (10-20% from memory) than our DynoDynamics dynos, because of the way the horsepower is measured.

To put things in perspective, here are some typical dyno dynamics examples....a 13B with 9.4:1 rotors, extend ported and Webber 48 IDAs can expect 160-180rwhp, depending on basically how free flowing (read loud) you can afford to make the exhaust. the same engine with a modded nikki will get between 130-150rwhp.

A bone stock 13BT from a series 5 makes between 135-150rwhp depending on its general health and the dyno.

How does that compare to the dynos you use in the US?

I will say 500-600hp just a guesstimate.

Man, 180 to the wheels would be outstanding, but i'll take close to 150, as long as i can run decent times on the circuit, i'm happy
