ready to drop in the brandnew rebuild, just a few quick Q's

So I got the motor hanging right now as I'm going to pick up the few things I over looked this morning, but i was wondering if anyone out there knows what the easiest way to prime the oil system is, can this be done before I put the motor in? any real suggestions will be greatly appreaceited, the othe question is when making a block plate for an oil metering pump(Im running a weber and plan on mixing the gas)do you just need to cut apropriate block plate and gasket or do you have th shim the drive gear from the omp in so that it doesnt bounce around?
lotsa Thanks for useful input

Run a search for "omp blockoff" or something like that.

I'm not sure about priming the system, but I would take a look in the Haynes manual (I think I remember seeing it in there).

Did you port the motor? Tell us a bit about it...
