Rb holly trouble

I bought a Holly intake kit from racing beat. I installed it the way it says ,bought the fuel regulator and all that. I still having trouble keeping the full pressure at the recommended amount. At wot and it hesitates before doing anything. I'm sure it's fuel related. Any ideas?

I can't get it consistent. It will fluxuate too high and flood me out when I stop at a light and when I take off I'll backfire. Or it will just not give enough and the car will struggle until gas starts to flow. It's a new fuel pump, doesn't make sense

Just because it's new doesn't mean it's good. Are you seeing high pressure at idle, low pressure at throttle?

The fuel pump is dead headed so it will show inconsistant fuel pressure.

Run a return imo, BUT it shouldnt be going too low on throttle unless the pump is too small. What pump did you install?

Wal 255. Should be plenty big. I'll get on running the return and see if that helps

The walbro 255 is for EFI. Its base pressure is like 60psi or something. I had one with my mallory 4309 fpr and it wouldn't go below 5psi when I was trying to get my Nikki to work. They want 2.5psi so I had to add a second inline fpr just to get it low enough. I had had enough and swapped in an MSD fuel pump instead. Now I get 2.5psi with just the mallory.

Could also be a clogged fuel filter

The problem is that the fuel pump is total overkill, and the stock 1/4 return isnt quite big enough for it. Running it deadhead was his issue, but im not sure how well the return would work for him either just because of the sheer volume of fuel pump that will be on return.
