rattle can jobs suck, i know from experience
if u want it to last more than a week a minumum of 3 coats is needed, and it will always look uneven and shitty and it fades hella fast

Rent an air compressor and buy a $40 paint gun at TSC, then buy 19.99 worth of tractor acrylic enamel (1 gallon) 1 can of $4.99 hardener and paint your car for the same price as a rattle can job. I painted my runaround s-10 for $30 and it's still holding up great....
This route will end up cheaper then a ratttlecan job.

if you're going to rattle can, get some good paint in the first place. I suggest www.paintscratch.com or others like them.

I used a epoxy based spray paint to paint the wheels on my Probe a Matching Gloss Black.
Didnt clear them, so without wax, they dull a bit, but the finish is holding up great, even with minnesota winter and road salt.
I thing Plasticote makes it.
Flat color paints are more durable, and much easier to apply, as they dry almost instantly.

Do all of your prep work, then spray it with an epoxy primer. That is what I am doing with my widebody, until I decide on a finish color. My paint supplier says it could hold up for 2 years, and if I want he can mix me a poly clear with the gloss toned down and it will last longer. The U-Tech epoxy is less than $100 a gal., which gives 1.5 gal. to spray. It is not a full flat black, but it's not 100% gloss either.
The nice thing about the epoxy is, when you get ready for your finish coat, you just scuff sand and paint (providing all your body work is done). Then you can shoot a single stage poly for the top coat, and it can be deglossed to whatever flatness you want.

I think you should just shop around for a nice little paint shop. I paid $650 for my paint job 2 years ago, and they even fixed my front spoiler that was broken in 3 pieces.
