Rat's nest removed, now no start!

Okay, so I removed the rat's nest on Saturday and thankfully, everything seemed to be working fine. The car still started with no trouble and ran great. I drove it several times that day after the rat's nest was removed and had no troubles.

Now today I tried to start it an I get nothing. I pull the choke all the way out, tap the gas once and start cranking and I get no fire whatsoever! I can crank and crank and all I do is wear on the battery. Is there something I missed or is it just natural to be hard to start w/out the rat's nest? I still can't get it going, right now I've got the battery on charge.

The only difference between today and when it ran last was that the temp was about 45-55 degrees F on Saturday and today it's about 30-45 degrees outside.

Any suggestions please?

It shouldnt affect your starting. Hard cold weather starts are usually due to weak ignition. Check it out. Plugs, cap rotor.....

Did you accidentally cap the carb air vent?

Damnedest thing, I fiddle-fucked around w/ it today after work making sure I didn't plug anything that shouldn't be.. still nothing. Then I let it sit for a few minutes while I searched for some starting fluid, I tried it one last time before using the fluid, and PRESTO!... it fired right up! Guess I just needed to threaten it with some starting fluid. Maybe I'll carry an empty can with me to scare it with when it won't start

I'm guessing it was a combination of the cold weather and weak ignition.

Thanks for the suggestions you guys!

FWIW, EVERY time I fiddle with my car, something goes haywire. But here's the wierd part: It always turns out to be completely unrelated to what I was working on. A complete coincidence. 'Bout drives me crazy thinking "oh no, now what the hell did I do to my car?" Glad you got 'er going. -WG

The rats were pissed off that you moved their home. They came back and chewed through some choice wires
Just a joke
