Random wire
That's just odd. Being powered from the stop lights feed, it'd have power even with the key out. Which means it'd drain the battery eventually if left on.
You don't suppose he installed a low-power cabin vent fan, do you? Something to circulate air to help keep the interior cool when parked?
Can't wait to hear what this actually is...

it's unplugged right now, i don't think this guy knew what he bought 25 years ago, all the fuses we're wrong so i doubt this was handed over to an "expert" and all my covers are gone, they didn't touch the engine, or so it seems, the "smell of rotary" must have scared them haha. i'm gonna put this guy under a lamp and really ask him all i can. and i thought the battery draining would have something to do with that wire, and not to mention that fuse was a higher number than it was supposed to be. when i got it the defroster was unplugged, i cleaned that with paint thinner and painted it with silver, just as it said to, so thats fine. hmmm, any one have similar problems? (doubt it haha) just watch everyone, its gonna be something hilariously irrelevant or just obvious.
Hello everyone! I finally got around to seeing where the wire led to. it was connected to the cooler in front of the fan. so i guess it is something to do with the cars cooling system and not the a/c. i really want to plug this where its supposed to be cause that might be the reason for the temp gauge not working either. its still unplugged right now and i even took out the negative on my battery. what now? i know the gsl se had the updated cooling system and an oil cooling system but i dont know where that is. could it be that? cause it stays on when the car is off untill i pull it. i was about to buy another thermostat but im not sure yet, maybe this still works. all this wouldnt explain the faulty fuel gauge though

I don't think there was a stock cooler in front of the fan (in front of the radiator, maybe?). Certainly there isn't in an SA.
Sounds like someone added a manual cooling assist in the quick-n-dirtiest way.

Well yeah i meant it was the radiator but i didnt know it was electric so i wasnt sure what to call it
Yes its the same exact fan as any other stock FB , are all of you sure you don't have anything in your radiators? Cause it does look factory, well not the cable, but the holes look right and everything.
Here are some pictures of the mystery wire in the engine bay.
Here you see the stock fan and everything else.

the one that has the bolts. It's the metal piece on top / in front of the radiator. took mine out, sandblasting and painting it.
You can see if you look up from the grill but its easy to take those bolts out, and easier to work with once it's off.

The wire that goes "to the belt" is the power to the AC compressor. Looks like the PO wired up the AC and an extra cooling fan so they would be turned on and off together. Does AC work?
Yes it does and it sounds VERY likely because of the triple digit weather here in Laredo. I'll ask.
