Random Idiot Lights

While driving, my buddy's 84 GSL's idiot lights will come on for a few seconds at a time, then go away. The car never sputters or anything. Is there a loose wire or something that would cause this?

Yeah, like when the car stalls and they all light up. I was thinking maybe it was a loose alternator connection - I remember they all lit up when I lost my alt belt. He's in KS and I'm in GA, just wanted to give him some pointers.
