Raising the 7 from the dead!!!!

I just had to see what you guys had to think about my project. This 82 rx7 was DEAD!!!!! I've been working on it for 3 years now and I'm just now almost done with paint. I've seen you guys complain about small rust holes....... I patched a hole right behind the drivers seat about 1 foot wide and 2 feet long. So you can imagine how the rest of the car was. All four wheels were locked up and the brake lines were rotted off. I've gone over EVERYTHING on this car, well almost everything.
When I first got this mazda I didn't really understand what being a first gen owner meant and felt like. But after "restoring" this rx I now have that much more respect and love for this car. lol
The story is the origional woman owner bought this car after the throttle stuck on her nissan Z car so she put that car in the barn and bought this since it had it's....... "similarities". She loved driving the car and was VERY easy on it. I got this given to me by the second owner who got it from the origional owner. The couple I got it from were good friends wih the lady and she died of some sort of cancer shortly after they got this car from her around 1993. The last inspection was in 1994!!!! It's sat for a long time, long enough!!! I was four years old the last time this thing drove on the roads. lol The guy I got it from was fixing it for his son but his son got a mitsubishi starion so this odviously got put on hold!!! lol
Just in case your wondering, it's going to be an off white, but not cream. A nice "antique" white. We should finish up painting by tomorrow night!

Notice the whole drivers door under the mid body line is bondo, lots of bondo!! That was a huge dent!!!! I wanted to get another door but here in northwestern Pa it's hard to find other 7's.

You can view those if you have a myspace account, just sign in. But if you don't this should work too. It just doesn't have all the pictures.

Does it look like somethings missing along the side of the car???? To me it looks like I need some black stripes or something like that. I don't wanna put the rubber chunks back on along the sides, I sold those on ebay last year cause I hated them. I thought about painting the dents that runs along the side red or black............ any sugestions???????

I just got plates on my car today and drove it on the roads for the first time!!!! That was the best!!! I found out my gas sending unit leaks when the cars on a tilt and I snapped an alt. belt on the trip but I was close to home and was able to limp her home. But over all it was a good first run!!! lol It hasn't been on the roads for 14 years so it's definately gonna have some bugs to work out.

Oh, and I meant to say it was off the road for 14 years. I try typing faster than I can. I snapped two bolt on the sending unit, thats why it leaks. What should I do about that???? Am I gonna have to put a new gas tank in???? Oh and I broke a belt cause the alt. keeps loosening and slacks the belt and tears the belt apart. Anyone else ever have this problem. I think I fixed it with a lock washer on the bolt, so it doesn't keep sliding.

Some guy in a crx wanted to race me while I was parked at walmart tonight at about 10:30pm. I'm not about to lose my license over that *** so I let him circle around the parking lot and leave. lol I just got it on the road, I don't feel like getting it taken back away from me!!!!
