Radio: One Side Only!

So, my GSL-SE's radio is wanting to play at normal volume only on the left side. The right side is extremely quiet, but I can hear it while driving. I've checked all the controls, and they're set to center. Is it a fuse? The amp's fried? Bad wiring? All of the above? If it's the amp, how do I check it, and where is it? I did a little searching and all I came up with is that the amp is under the driver's side storage bin. It's a 1984 GSL-SE, with the premium sound, EQ, Cassette, and all. Thanks!

sounds like you have a bad output in the amp. the amp is under the driver's side storage bin, yes. you have two amps, one under each bin. i believe its a 100W clarion system. to test it, i'm not sure. if you have another oem amp laying around, plug it in and see if anything changes.

I tried to get the driver's side bin out last night. I unscrewed all the screws, and it wouldn't come out, I think because of the light trigger (little button-esque thing on the side). How do I get them out?

Pull up on the side opposite the light. The body of the bins afe soft and pliable. Check for water damage on the amp. There's 16 pages in the FSM covering the audio systems, in the body electrical section.

I had to bend and break the metal clip on mine. I have two extra amps if you would like to try.

They didnt work with the aftermarket stereo, heh... I tried.

for some reason, only god knows why, they decided to both work today. I was a touch surprised to hear "Red Barchetta" from both sides. I'll crack it open as soon as we have another nice day out, yesterday and today are both pretty crappy.

It could be the fader switch. My amps didnt work but the wire would still travel through them.
