RacingBeat's Holley kit

Racingbeat says their Holley 600cfm carb is modified for the rotary....wondering if anyone knows what they do and if I would be better off just buying a 600cfm carb from Holley for a bit cheaper?

I guess it wouldn't bee alot cheaper, Manifold is $228, Complete Kit $850.

RB's Holley kit is 465CFM for N/A through stage 1 street ports. You wouldn't want a 600CFM until you hit at least stage 2 SP or a bridgey.

I can't remember *exactly* what they do (carb things go in one ear and out the other for me), but I *do* remember people having problems getting stock holleys (designed for piston engines) to work on a rotary engine properly.

You'd be better off just to go for the Racing Beat Holley 465, as long as you're not running a bridge port.

Sorry for the misunderstanding,,I have a GSL-SE. I too have heard the trouble with stock Holleys, that is much of my concern, I beleive I'll just get their carb.

Thanks

Hmm.. you might want to ask them then about your specific needs then converting a GSL-SE's Fuel Injection system to Holley. Probably not a huge problem, but the manifold is different, and just buying the holley w/o checking could leave you with a carb that won't bolt on.

I'm sure they have a way to deal with that, an adapter or something.... I just don't know off the top of my head. The non-FI 1st gens are more my forté, as I thought you were talking about the "85 GSL" in your sig

Nah, the carbs are all the same basplate AFAIK. SO they will bolt up fine. 4150-4160 series all of the ones RB sells AFAIK. The big reason holleys are problems on rotaries is that they are mounted 90 degrees from their normal position which causes fuel delivery problems. Off the top of my head Id say youll need at least center hung floats and bowls, and probably jet extenders, and possibly recalibration to work with the RB mainfold.
