Racing Beat should not be trusted

I ordered a cat replacement pipe on Feb. 27. Have yet to receive shipment confirmation or tracking information from then, much less an explanation for the long delay.
There seems to be a pattern developing; have noticed many others with complaints about slow shipping. In addition, RB has afforded me no information or explanation for the delay.
If you are in need of quick shipping and good customer service, look elsewhere. In addition, I am a repeat customer and still they can't deliver.

I don't know if I would go that far with about Mazdatrix either. The last two times I have ordered from them it has taken 3 weeks+ to get the goods. And of course, you never know what your charge is going to be since they don't calculate shipping until they decide to ship it. I will still be doing business with Henry, but I sure couldn't say they were any faster than RB.

I've ordered a half dozen items from RB without a hitch. Absolutely no problems. Any time I need info on anything, I pick up the phone and call them - I always get someone on the line that can answer my questions.

Your cat replacement pipe is probably being assembled. WHen I ordered my exhaust it took weeks before I got it. They said they had to build it. I'm sure you'll get your product soon. Good luck.

I had the complete opposite experience with Racing Beat. Back in late October I too ordered a cat replacement pipe. I ordered it Thursday evening and it was at my house Saturday morning. I never got a tracking number either. Perhaps your order is stuck in customs?

I ordered a light weight steel flywheel from them about a year ago and it was sent out to me in a weeks time. I got it and discovered that they installed the dowel pins crooked so they sent me out another in a weeks time. They got my shipment to me in a timely fashon but other items my take longer due to them having to make them or wait for them to arrive to them to ship to you. But I do understand what you're saying, they should at least let you know whats going on with your order.

I ordered a wastegate on Jan 21 from another company
Jan 29th they cashed my check
about a week later I herd it was on backorder (can deal with that)
Feb 18 wastegate arrives at the company
Supposedly shipped out Feb 24
Here I am Mar 8 and still no !#%^#&! wastegate!

Moral of the story don't feel so bad, it could be a lot worse.

Haven't ordered anything from RB yet, but I agree that mazdatrix isn't the fastest company either. I too wish they would calculate shipping and tell you before sending it. It hasn't been to bad so far, but on an bigger order shipping might be a bitch.

The thing is, I had the forsight to order this well enough ahead of time, to be able to install it during my Spring Break, one of the only times I am free to work on my car. They should have the forsight to have a couple on hand to avoid stock-outs. Now theres a good chance, if they haven't even built it yet, that I won't get the thing until I'm back in school. This is how you lose my business.

I got my pipe Wednesday. I emailed racing beat last wednesday and they called me the next morning, my shipment was on its way this Monday. They guy I talked to was professional and very understanding; their entire sytem crashed and they lost a ton of web orders (have I heard this before). Anyway they knocked 50% off my shipping charge, and the pipe is really quite solid... Still I don't know if I'll be buying from them again with the incredible delay and inconveinence.

Shoot, I realy doubt there is anouther shop out there that would knock off the shipping, and call you to tell you what the deal was! Thats customer service in my opinion. Extremely hard to find now a days.

When i've allways orderd something from them, I usually get it, the day they say I will. I'm happy with them. CJ

As long as we are bitching about RB, I have a problem with the bolts/studs they are using.

They must be using a supplier that uses lower grade steel because twice now I have had bolts shear off. Not torquing unusually hard. One was for the ACV block off plate (last night) and before on a stud on my presilencer (had to send it back).

What a pain.

Right on.

This is my first post here. I have beel watching the FD threads. I am getting one in the next couple of weeks. I had a 1st Gen years ago. I had a huge street port with a preditor carb. Headers with no muffler. 50hp shot of nos. It was sooooo high school. ( I miss that car!!!) Well, I hated RB. They were jerks. They got great stuff and they know their $hit! I just hate their PR. I own my own biz, and I belive in customer sadifaction, call backs, and to bend over backwards for the customer. RB dose not do that, they dont have to. They are the _hit and they know it. In my opinion, I think that sucks, but if you need it and they have it.........

People, People, People...

I myself, have yet to deal with this company.....but you need to look at the big picture.

RB seems like a pretty well KNOWN company, but I doubt they have thousands of employees......

I'd be willing to bet, they have hundreds, if not thousands of orders.

The best bet, isn't to do an online order with a small company. I don't even do that with large companies. Order something on the phone. Make sure you get a confirmation number for your order.

Try to get an estimated time of delivery, but don't consider that FACT, just an idea of when it might arrive.

If you have a delay, call their number up. Someone will direct you to who to speak with, if you have an order problem.

Give them the confirmation number, they can look it up, and let you know when, if ever, the item went out, and you can get the tracking information from them.

You have to remember, these companies aren't "household names" in the Rx-7 community for horrible business, and junk parts.

Just a update on this... I STILL DON'T HAVE MY WASTEGATE!!! I stuck a sticky note on the check telling them exactly what I wanted for a spring pressure and they went a head and ordered me the wrong spring so that brings even more delays because now we have to wait till the spring gets to him! ****! It's really hard to finish a manifold without the wastegate to fit in there. Damn it! I really want to drive the car this summer, looks like it will be next summer at the rate I'm going.

ok feel better now...

I got my Racing Beat muffler two weeks after I placed the order. Apparently, they had to "get it ready to ship". Whatever, I'm happy with the quality of the muffler.
