do all the cooling system mods, front mount oil cooler, electric fan, and maybe a lower degree thermostat if your really worried about it.

how hot are ya talking? Does your gauge reading go past half way? I believe average is 1/3-1/4th, mine barely goes past the cold mark...

not sure what ur trying to say. for starters, there were no stock headers. the heat shield on the thermal reactor did just that, plus i don't think that stock cast exhaust manifold got as hot as what the header will, which just proves how hot the rotary exhaust really is. just installing a header will not make the engine run any hotter by the temp guage.

I have no experience with this, but you could probably use a header wrap kinda stuff like they use on piston engines to cut down the heat. Don't know how it would take to rotary heat though.

dude, a rotary's exhaust can top 1000 degrees farenheit exiting the engine. completely normal. wrap the header if you have one. you are confusing though. you need to understand that a rotary engine can handle the temps. its built for that. nothing to worry about.

MazdaTrix or RB makes a heat shield fo thier headers. It is a simple, light gauge aluminum plate that the anyone can easily duplicate. Exhaust temps on a rotary start at 1400 and go up from there.

Best option to reduce underhood temps is to have the headers ceramic coated, inside and out, inside bering more critical. This starts at 150 and goes up, not including shipping.

If you want to be a guinea pig, there are some diy ceramic coatings now that I have been wanting to try. I'll do your's for 75 plus shipping.

Just use header wrap. Its the best choice. Heat shield works great too.

this is why the rotary didn't work for GM when they tried it in a vette'. think it was in the 70's. they put one in a vet but it melted anything that was under the hood. lol

Yeah, because the ******* gas crisis had nothing to do with the rotary's demise at GM...

On topic, I reused the heat sheild from my thermal reactor/exhaust manifold. It's cheap and works quite well to keep underhood heat down.

A car with Racing Beat headers driven hard will make the headers glow orange. It's normal. The heat is normal... it's a damn rotary! If you don't like how hot it gets then put it back to stock or don't drive the car.
