Racing Beat Exhaust Sound
Just wondering what the sound or noise is like with a Racing Beat Street exhaust over a stock exhaust.
I cannot stand annoying exhaust noise, but I love a good sounding exhaust.
I test drove a '85 GSL-SE I was considering buying, and he said he had some mish-mash exhaust put on. It was WAY too loud, and sounded like crap.
Thanks!

I have an RB muffler on the blue 83 and it sounds just right: not loud, but with a pleasant low rumble that I can sense a half block away. Very nice. I'll put the same on my other cars.

I have the entire RB exhaust and it sounds g.reat. I think it is very slightly louder than stock
I previously had a custom 2.5" system with high flow cat & muffler and it was so loud I had to yell to carry on a conversation in the car.

I have the Racing Beat long dual primary setup on my '85 12a. At idle and cruising the sound is very acceptable, only slightly lounder than stock with a nice low tone. When under hard acceleration, it has kind of a sharp edged "brap" tone to it; not too loud, but noticable.
In normal street driving, the setup is slightly louder than stock, and the tone is better.

I had the header and center section of the racing beat streetport setup, with two pipes over the axle, and a N1 muffler.
I loved how it sounded until I blew the cheap collector at the back clean off the car.
The racing beat parts still looked like new when I sold them later.

It's a bit too quiet for me. I may be selling it soon and building something custom.

I can't stand the annoying metallic sound that some mufflers and piping tend to create. I believe it is usually with stainless steel piping and with thiner walls of exhaust when it does that.
