ID The Quick Tune Up Write up.~

ok so I figured since im already dumping money into tuning up the car from all the 3 year old parts I might as well make a write up and try to get pictures as I go.

now so far I have done a couple of things like.

1. Changed my oil filter to a K/N oil filter.

2. Cleaned my Air filter and cleaned out my carb. (world of difference as well.)

3. Coil Packs. Not worn out but noticeable hard start even after hot.)

4. Spark plug wires and Distributor / and Cap.

now I will hopefully on Tuesday get my fuel filter changed out and my main coolant hoses swapped out with my brand new ones.

I'm still working on getting a new oil cooler set up and exhaust set up as well.

but for now i'm trying to save this really clean 2nd Gen RX-7 from the scrap yard
and I mean almost perfect has what looks like brand new interior and a brand new paint job. but blown motor.

Nobody really "tunes" anything in a tune up anymore. What is there to tune? The carb? The points? The suspension?

don't always be so negative other Jeff a tune up for me can be anything from getting the car out of a rough idle to just changing a filter.

always putting me down is that how you treat other Jeffs?

LOL :P

and also yes I might have to mess with the carb cause since I have been doing things my idle has gone up and is not so rough its set to about 1100 rpm's atm no surging just set there after it was rebuilt.

when I usually mean tune up for a car its just means im adjusting it all around I have bled new brake fluid into the system and I have even adjusted my steering a little so I don't veer straight off into the left like I was if I hadn't of changed a few of those things it would of just set there cranking when its cold now it fires properly and a lot more clean then it was yesterday.

on an old car a Tune up for me is checking everything fluids brakes and overall adjusting how the car handles and drives and making sure my filters and lubes are good along with hoeses and vaccume lines are good.. According to my butt dyno she is running faster then when I got her.

I love you other Jeff but picking on other Jeffs is just rude to the whole Jeff nation.

I use the phrase "tune-up" too. Be it "Tuning up the paint" with some Zainos or "Tuning up the brakes" with new pads… gawd-knows I am no mechanic. With my RX its Tune-orama All The Time. half the fun. So I keep telling myself….

Lol yeah. Names Jeff also and I like to use the phrase "tune up" as a noun, adjective, verb, pronoun, in past and present tense but the future tense never applies to me I'm in the here and now. I also like to Olololo like a lily school boy nice to meet everyone.
