1983 first oil change, want to premix

Hello everyone, I tried to look this stuff up before posting but everyone has way to many oppinions. I just bought a 1983 limited edition 7 today, I want to go and change the oil and start pre mixing right away. The car is just going to be a daily driver for now and is bone stock.
Just wondering what the oil filter size is, how much oil it holds, and what type of oil I should use for the crank case. Now for the premix, I'm trying to figure out what oil ratio I should run and what type of 2 stroke oil you guys like to use for it. 2 stroke only please everyone. Also do I have to eliminate anything on the stock oiling system to start pre mixing? Keep in mind I dont want this to turn into the oil war, just please recomend me the most used case oil and 2 stroke oil please thank you everyone for your time!

Stock/recommended mazda filter is pretty dinky, as you may have seen. As to its capacity? Never seen that stared anywhere. Just total capacity and oil pan capacities, at least in regards to the FMOC version RX7s, which yours may not be? If you don't have an OE service manual (which has all this data and much more), you might want to hunt one down on ebay. Usually about $25.

PreMix: I use it WITH the OMP system, more for peace-of-mind. you can certainly run both.
I add 4oz of the cheapest gut-rot 2cycle oil I can buy at each fill up. So far that comes in gallon jugs at Walmart. It just burns in the combustion chamber so adding something exotic seems a waste. Others may disagree.

Oil: Castrol GTX is my choice, as it seems to be for many.

Congrats on the car BTW!

The oil capacity spec is in the service manual. Oil pan capacity is 4.4 quarts

Why wait to start pre-mixing till you change the oil? As Arnold from the Predetor movie would say DO IT NOW!!!

I use Johnson/Evinrude two cycle oil. I used the Quicksilver one time and it smoked too much even for my tastes. I CANNOT un-sugest super-tech enough.

I meant actual oil capacity for the 83 12a bone stock engine, im hearing either 4.5 or 5.5 quarts! that needs to be clarified! and also the actual filter size/part number I should be looking for, I found a bottle of castrol gtx in the car like you said so I will stick with that! As for pre mix I will premix 400:1 until I eliminate omp, then run 100:1, it sounds like I should use a good marine 2 stroke oil then? non syn? I was thinking about running amsoil interceptor because I run that in my 2 stroke yamaha banshee atv and love it but not sure if it has weird addatives! any oppinions?! thanks for the time again!

Did you read the document I linked to? Please do some research given the information I posted. Not sure where you got your numbers from. This is the information from the 1983 Technical Data section from the Factory Service Manual.

The rule for filing ANY engine with oil is that you fill it until the oil registers on the dipstick within the FULL section. You wouldn't want to blindly put in X amount of oil based on someones recommendation and not look at the dipstick.

"Oil capacity:
Full capacity: 4.9 U.S. quarts
Oil pan capacity: 4.4 U.S. quarts"

I'm not advocating any particular type of oil filer, but K&N's filter for a 12A is HP-1004
