quick question on leading & trailing
which coil is which? I just put new wires and plugs on and I forgot to check. Its seems to start up fine and idle either way though. Leading coil is the one toward the back for '84, right?

8krpm is not enough
The best way to check is to look for the 2 wires on the trailing coil's negative line.
Leading has one,
trailing has two (one's the tach pickup line for the ecu / tach)
The coils can easily be put in the "wrong" spots.
Hell, mine both leading are in the OEM locations and the trailing's on the firewall

Old [Sch|F]ool
That only works on '81-up models... '80-down have about five zillion wires hanging off of each coil
(so, when do you think i should write the SA/FB pitfalls article? )

yeah, or post which wire gos on which coil for me to check mine Since a friend, and I yanked the system, we never cared to check the wires on the coil, to see where they go , so needless to say, we got it running, but it probably has at least one wire off Expecially since there is one fuse, that keeps on burning me every time i get close to it while the car is on So any help on which wire were on an 80 setup, I would be grate ful THANX LATERZ,
Andrew
