Quick question before I take out the tranny..

I noticed after putting my engine and transmissin back in my car, after replacing the clutch and many other things, that the clutch fork is resting pointing towards the back of the car, and theres no tension on it. Can I assume that the release bearing has slipped off the clutch fork somehow? I just needed to know, I was planning on taking out the transmission today and takin care of the problem.

That sounds exactly what happened.

well, it turns out that in fact, the bearing was on the fork, and that there was absolutely nothing wrong! Turns out I just wasnt applying as much force as the clutch slave cylinder would, thats why it wasnt moving more. oh well! Just for bragging rights, I got the engine and transmission out, figured out there wasnt a problem, and put it back in and hooked everything back up in an hour and fifteen minutes. Heh, it was a good experience..
