Quick question about supporting the car...

Hey Guys,

Got a real easy question here... however I find myself lost in dial-up land without a haynes manual/FSM. I'm trying to get my car up on blocks for the winter/maintenance/overhaul, and I don't know where to put the blocks.....?

The last time I put a car up on blocks (2nd Gen) I ended up supporting it with lengths of 2x4 along the door sills (the seam where the jack sits...) ...which was necessary because it was rusting through just about everywhere else
The problem with this was that I could not squeeze under to work on the floorpan between the 2x4s... which is something I'd like to do this time.. (going to be redoing the undercoating this winter )

Any suggestions (pics/diagrams would be good too )

Thanks in advance!

Matt

Rear support where lower control arm mounts are located, front at leading edge of unibody box frame where extra layer of metal is welded, anywhere else will damage the underbody. NB you can use the front crossmember but as it near the center it wont be as stable.

well... got it up... supported on the boxed section at both the front and the back... seems to be sitting well..
...the rear is supported on the boxed section near the lower control arms, is that okay?

....I'd love to use jack stands front and back, but the garage is a gravel floor, and jackstands don't sit well on a gravel floor...

Thanks for the help!

I could have swore that this was going to be about supporting an rx7 financially.

Glad to hear you got what you needed though.
